Default What should I do?

I bought an LM4 June of last year to put in my truck. Its a crate engine so it has no miles on it. I haven't been able to do anything with it since I got it so its been sitting on the pallet in my garage.

So, my question is, is it hurting anything to let it sit there a while longer or should I start it? I don't want anything to happen to it.

Should I be dong anything else?

Thank you for any help.

As long as its wrapped very good and in a cool place then you shouldnt have any issues.

Just dont put it outside where moisture can get into it buddy and dont let it sit on bare block either. Put a wood pallet underneath or something. Personal experience here.

With the old engines if we let them sit for a long time ie. a year or so. We would take the distributor out and put another shaft in attached to power drill, and this way we could spin the oil pump and make sure the engine was well lubricated before we started it.

But honestly its fine just sitting there as long as its not out in the weather or uncovered.

Cover it up and make sure its not outside, other than that your fine.
