I think I have a fuel related problem
Hopefully you guys can give me some trouble shooting ideas.
I have a 1998 Z28 with 130k. Details are in my signature. Long story short, I have had the car in storage for about 14 months. The (origional) fuel pump was getting noisey when I parked it. I recently went to bring it to my new house and couldn't get it to start with out spraying starting fluid.
I had it towed home and changed the pump. Fuel pressure gage shows 15lbs when I turn the key. To get to 50+lbs I have to prime the key about 4 or 5 times. I'm not sure but I don't think this is right. Spark is good, plugs are dry. Fires right up with a shot of starting fluid but wont stay running off of the spray.
I am changing the fuel filter tonight. I can't remember the last time I changed it, I've had the car for 12 years so it's probably been a while. There was about 3 gallons of gas in it while it was stored. I put about 7 gallons of fresh gas in it as well as a can of seafoam to try to clean up any mess left by leaving the old gas in there.
Has anyone had a similiar problem? What are some orderly troubleshooting ideas?

Well I changed the fuel filter. Now I have 57lbs when I turn the key. The strange thing is, now it's wanting to backfire out the air box. Can't get it to idle on starting fluid either. It actually shot the soft plug out of the throttle body like a rocket. Does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas?
