Default Whats Wrong

I Have A 99 Trans Am With A Tci Ssf 3500 Stall And 373 Gears And A Ls1 Hot Cam Hooker Long Tubes Off Road X-pipe Ported Tb Also Tb Bypass Ls1 Motorsport Lid Trans Go Shift And A Tranny Cooler TUNED WITH LS1 EDIT BY TSP. What I Was Wondering Is My Car Has Got 1.72 60 Ft 1/8th Mile Is 8.10 But My 1/4 Mile Is 12.72 At 102mph Why Is My Mph Down Does It Look Like The Converter Is Slippin. What Is The Best Str For This Conveter With This Set Up. And Do You Think A 4000 Stall Would Be To Much For Every Day Use If I Was To Change It.

The converter is fine. Get some traction. 1.72 with that converter and 3.73 gears is not so great. That converter can pull mid 1.5s with traction and your gearing.

For some increased MPH, toss the Notcam (I know that's not what you want to hear but sooner or later you'll toss it anyway just like 95% of Notcam owners) for a good 222-224ish cam and recheck the tuning. Get and underdrive pulley, a FTRA kit, and an exhaust cuttout. Get Autotap and LS1Edit.

STR? 2.5 is great.

If you're going to get a 4000 stall (and I REALLY think you should get the rest of your car sorted out first because the converter you have is a damn fine one), an SS4000 is fairly streetable and can be made to be quite nice for everyday driving with the right part throttle shift points and lockup settings (again, get LS1Edit.)

When you get the rest of your car all set right, and think you still want a 4000 stall.
I would recommend the SS4000 , i have it in my car without tuning and it is not really that bad a daily driver. A little loose but nothing bad at all.
But i have stock 3:23 gears still too.
