Starting Ls2 after a long storage
Hi
I swapped a 05 Ls2 which I bought of Ebay in to my Jeep.
the seller told me it was a 20k engine and it sound plausible, but I suspect the motor has not bin fired up for several years. Now I am getting ready to fire her up for the first time but I am a bit worried that the piston rings could be stuck after a possible prolonged storage. So what do I do? Just keep the fingers crossed, or are there some good advise out there???

You can always rotate it by hand. But a ratchet on the crank bolt and see if it turns. Just prime the motor before starting it. Crank it over with fuel and spark off till you see oil come out the rockers. Id pour some oil over the rockers too so theyre not dry on the first start. Good luck

Disable the injectors, crank her over till u have oil pressure, enable injectors,
SAY CLeeEAR - fire in the whole.
And u should be good to go.
It's a good ideal - once the engine is running,to do a decarbon on the combustion chamber.
