Default HP Tuners Pro ON ITS WAY!!!

Ordered HP Tuners Pro from Mike F over at SKSpeed. Gave me a great deal. "$Great price$" shipped to my door. Had tracking info within minutes of payment. Great way to do business!!

Looking into the NGK AFX wideband, would like to get more of a portable one so I could do "freinds" cars as well.

Obviously, I am a newbie when it comes to tuning as of now. I plan on doing as much research as I can and learning as much as I can on my own vehicle before touching others. Any tips or suggestions for getting started or guides that you know of that would be beneficial to those new at tuning.

Looks like we're on our own man. 171 views and not one suggestion.

Some may say "TRY A SEARCH", like I haven't. I'm looking for a nice basic guide from start to finish.

HP Tuners forum boards are where I've been learning thus far.

Yeah, I've been over at HP tuners as well. Haven't really found anything that I would call 'start to finish'. Tons of info but nothing that says ok, here's what to start with and where to head after that. I've done a conversion into a 55 Chevy and just have a base tune. My engine is a mix of items. The engine runs and I'm not throwing any codes...just runs real rough. O'well....guess I'll keep reading Good luck to you!

I always use the Innovate Motorsports LC-1

its cheap so I just buy a new one if i feel its getting inaccurate or I break it or whatever

Once I burned the wires on the exhaust..they are so cheap I just bought a new one rather than try fixing the wires.

Make sure to set up your voltage correction or offset though.

Your voltage reading on the actual LC-1 might be 3 volts and due to grounding differences, you may have a reading of 3.3 volts on your HPTuners screen.

It dont sound like much but .3 volts is 5.9% of the entire range of the unit. (zero to 5 volts) unless you set up a custom range.

if your range is 10-16 AFR then thats 5.9% * 6 AFR = .354 AFR

So you might be @ 13 on your HPT screen but really you would be LEANER in this case and @ 13.354.

(+ 0.3 Volt adds voltage IE adds AFR)

If the reading was lower on your screen, then you would be richer than your apparent reading on your HPTuners screen.

To the OP. How's it coming along with your new tuning software? I just ordered Hptuners and will be in the same boat as you. Any tips you want to pass along?

The software is great! Very happy about my purchase.

Find a buddy (Knowledgeable and experienced with HP Tuners) that has been a beginner once. That's been my biggest "help" other than the tuning books.

Good luck!
