Who is runing an oil cooler?
are you guys running oils coolers on your ls combos? I'm thinking about running one and going to 10w30 on oil. It could be far fetched but, once my car gets completely war like 10min of driving, I seem to start burning a little oil. Valve seals are new. Maybe I got a bum batch, and need to replace. Soooo. I was just randomly thinking since I was running 5w30 on break in it may be getting a little too thin, especially since its getting in the 90s here, and I might as well do an oil change and bump up to 10w30 and see if it helps. (I'm sure it wont. But you never know)

There will be no hot difference between a 5W-30 and 10W-30. You could try stepping up to something like Rotella T6 5W-40 unless you want to put off running a synthetic for a few miles. Valvoline VR1 street oil in a 40W would also be a good one to try. Either of those will give you a bit more viscosity and shear strength plus the extra zinc is good for ring seal. As far as I'm concerned an oil cooler is an auto-x only kinda thing or at least you need to know your normal oil temp before going with one. There are components in oil that aren't fully active until hot (ZDDP being one) and crud that needs to burn off in the oil that doesn't happen until a certain temp so running too cool can be as much a problem as running too hot.
Personally I send off a sample of my oil from the last engine I had built every change to Blackstone to make sure it's breaking in right. They'll send you the kit for free and you just put a check in with it when you send it in. Usually get results via email in a week. At 300 miles though what you see might scare you. Here's an example:
