Default holding 1st gear problem

i have a 4l60E, and i know the shifter cable is a little off but i can pull it down in first and take off in first just fine, but as soon as the tires slip it shifts into second, thats with the traction control off, pulled the ABS and TCS fuses and still does the same thing. Is it my cable?

In your PCM's transmission calibration the Manual 1st 1->2 and Manual 1st 2->1 tables are populated to allow this shift.

Regardless, make sure to adjust the shifter cable.

All 4L60E's will shift in 1st to 2nd at a certain rpm, this is in the programming so as not to over rev the motor.

it literally could be at around 2000 RPM...it never did this before I had it out and got it rebuilt, and 700 hp going through it...
