Default Tune needed?

I'm looking at getting some tsp 1 7/8 LT headers with catted Y pipe. My car is otherwise stock, is it necessary to get a tune as well?

I have the same question, though I do plan to do one anyhow. I want to know what, if any, are the negative side effects of not getting a tune after adding headers/y-pipe, besides leaving power on the table?

Is it absolutely necessary? No.

Is it a very good idea and will your car benefit from one? Hell yeah!

Your car may run alittle rich without a tune and you won't beable to get the max hp/tq gains. But you don't need it, I went almost a year without a tune with fast intake and long tubes with impressive gains so if you want to get a tune just get a mail order unless you plan on doing heads and cam later just wait to get it tuned. But you will be fine without it.

Ok, glad to hear that I won't need it immediately. I'm planning some supporting mods such as heads cam and stall later this year and want to get it tuned once the new parts are in.
