I decided to be more active on here, so I'll finally post an intro
Alright. I'm in a situation for a few months where I'm not around my car. To try to stay involved with car things I decided I'll actually be more active on forums. There is no one where I am to talk cars with, so I need an outlet.
I'm not at all new to cars, or LS cars. I've been drag racing since around 2001 or so (JR Dragsters) with a few dips into autox and even drifting for a few months, since Myrtle Beach is only 2 hours away and they run a little drift series at their speedway.
Past cars:
1995 Plymouth Neon. That's that.
1988 Mustang GT- intake, exhaust, 3.73's
2005 GTI 1.8t- Turbo kit, cryo'd close ratio tranny, 340ish fwhp
1984 Camaro Z28- 350 GM crate motor, 383 stroker, shift kit, 3.73's
2003 350z- upgraded brakes, intake, exhaust, short shifter
2003 GTI VR6- exhaust
The 2001 GT in my sig is my wife's car. She has said the only GM she wants is a Jetstream Blue Metallic C6. Until I buy one for her, she is keeping her GT or buying a 03/04 Cobra.
On to my current car, and probably the only one of that list most of you care about.
2006 GTO- TVS 2300, Pedders Track 1 suspension package, Cobra 8.8 rear with 1000hp rated driveshaft/axles, etc. Currently makes 623whp/601wtq. I have not been back to the track on this recent setup yet. I'll be happy with any slip with a 10 on it, but looking at other setups I'm thinking that if the planets align my setup might see a 10.5-6 or so.
Those are the big parts. There is a full list for anyone that cares at the end of one of the below videos. All parts were either installed by me or have at least been removed/replaced by me at some point for some reason. The only time this car has been in a shop was for tuning/dyno and one time the 8.8 needed a little welding on a mounting point.
I've attached a few pictures with different wheels. Two videos are linked below as well.
Old setup, 492whp, 11.13 @ 123, 1.60 60ft. Ignore the lack of headlight. We were getting desperate at the end of the day, hoping it would help. It didn't, I haven't done it since.
Current setup. This video has the dyno and some races against the local 08 Viper. **This is the video with the current full mod list at the end**
