Default cam for turbo 408 LQ9?

I have been getting a motor built by TSP to suit a twin turbo application and have changed direction and now going single big turbo, thinking i should change cam to suit?

current specs are 235-239 lsl lobes, and thats all i know at this point about it. is this too small? have no idea about cams to be honest.

cheers guys.

Would not be using LSL lobes if you plan on running over 16-18 psi of boost.

What turbo is going on it?

239/239 .620/.620 115+5 is a proven 1100 rwhp cam for a 408/GT5088 combination.

It will most prob be a Borg Warner S400sx4 or Garrett 45.

I do plan on running around that amount of boost eventually

I agree with LilJohn^ That cam he listed should do very good man. You want a street friendly cam or do you want a all out best performer cam?

The cam I run in my x275 combo is smaller than the cam listed. You don't need a big cam to go fast.

Gt5088 is about as small as i like to see on a 408 inch motor. The 400 is a great turbo, but your pushing the limits of the turbines capacity pretty hard with that many inches.

You're really running smaller than a 239/239 on a 400+ inch motor?

That cam has been 4.90's in 2 different cars.... along with 8.20's in Anthony Pecks True Street car.

The right valve events are the right valve events. Period.

I honestly wouldn't know. I was told they were going to lessen the aggressiveness of the cam , but that means not a lot to a noon like me. What comp can would be a great start? I honestly don't know.

Speaking of turbo though, I have to make sure my drive train will handle it as is for the time being, and the manifold has been made with t4 flange.

I know I can make a lot of power with the right setup but want reliability as #1 priority as I can't afford to do this again

Didn't say it doesn't work, said - you do not need a big cam to go fast.
