Default T56 Locked up at 64,3xx miles.

So I was driving my 02 Ws6 today and 5th gear decided to not sync anymore and 6th was being iffy as well which is when it happened. I was driving along and 6th popped out after grinding its self when I let the clutch out at 50mph and not touching the shifter.

Now the whole thing is locked in 6th or 5th and even though the shifter is in the middle (Neutral) and will shift to every other gear since it wont move from a stand still without a lot of throttle and very little clutch movement. I can push it or tow it as long as the clutch is open.

I was wondering what happened and what I should do. My assumption is that the 5th gear sync ring broke and then 5th/6th gear shifting fork broke off from the hurst shifter. I think I may need to fix the fork and sync ring and put new fluid in it at the best and at worst I need to do a full rebuild, which will be a Hawks Stage 2, of that POS.

Default

Internal shift linkage; possibly the offset arm on the 5-6 shift rail.
