Underdrive alternator pulley for my Z06
I can’t have an underdrive crank pulley for my 2012 Z06 so I had an alternator pulley made with a 15% underdrive. With my engine redline at 7200 I feel this gives a little extra protection for the alternator at those rpms. And in addition a couple extra hp won’t hurt anything either. My 537 rwhp may be 540 now!
I can tell no difference in charging. At idle (650 rpm) I get full charge with AC on, full fan and head lights on. My factory belt worked too. Little on the short side but it does work. My factory belt is the equivalent of a Gates K060798. When I replace it I’ll go with the K060802 belt which is slightly longer. Installation takes about 15 minutes or less.
The pulley is made of aluminum with a hard anodized black coating. Although bigger it’s actually slightly lighter.
The first pic is the pulley installed. And of course the second the smaller factory pulley and the underdrive.
