alternator problems

Hey guys just recently bought 2002 z28 35th anniversary and the alternator went bad on me and when I replaced it the new one seems to have died as well. Does anyone know how this could happen or why it happened?

Plenty of "new" parts are either defective or fail rather quickly. You should be able to get a new alternator for free from the replacement manufacturer.
