Default intermittent failure to downshift

Hey guys, i have an 02 z28 a4 3.23 geared camaro with 3600 stall and full exhaust lid and ported throttle body. On two occasions i have floored it and the car didnt react at all, no downshift no change in rpm. There have been no codes set and no check engine light. I suspect throttle position sensor but it seems fine 99% of the time. Trans shifts well otherwise. Any ideas?

Shifts are completely controlled by the PCM, so assuming it upshifts correctly, you can be pretty sure the trans is OK. If when you floor it, the car doesn't accelerate, then you have a throttle, throttle plate or TPS problem; this would not be a trans problem.
