Double springs? and P/V clearance ?'s Which ones are having the best track record right now? I have been out of the loop for about a year now and just realized that REV's are no longer the only ones.

PP Golds?
REV'S?
VHP(Vinci)
I think I want to stay away from the Rev's...I have not heard that much good about them...
What's the general concenscous(sp?) on this aspect?
The cam will be a 232/236 .585/.585, nothing to crazy( i don't think) on a 113lsa. Is it possible to advance the timing 4* with this cam or will the P/V be way to close? Is there any way to measure P/V with the clay method? Is there a calculator or something of that nature? (stock heads with 2.02's and 1stock exhaust valves no milling and stock SB)

Also I will NOT be using Ti retainers. Who has the cheapest prices so far? I can't find prices for the "Golds" but also don't know anything about them. :/

One of the venders has a pretty good package for the Patriot Gold Valvesprings. $295 for the springs, seals, seats, locks, and Ti retainers. I bought a set...It was either these or the Cranes for me. Went with the Patriot's because the positive posts I have seen here on this site.

hrm....that is a sweet deal...maybe I will use Ti retainers!

I was searching some more and it seems alot of people are very happy with the golds from PP. I just may have to use them. And I do have to change my salve seals with them i take it?
is that hard to do? or is it just a matter or popping them out and popping the new one back in.

I just installed a set for a guy last night. Take the old spring off, remove the old seal (pull of with pliers), remove old spring seat (comes off without any tools), install new spring seat (drop in), install new valve seal (pops/slides on), install new spring/lock/retainer... easy as that. Great spring package for the price, comes with everything you need.

I installed a REV double set with Ti retainers about one year ago.
There are holding up OK with no issues. I'm using a mild street cam, and I replaced all the other stuff, heads, rockers, pushrods, lifters, however.
I heard subsequently that REVs break often. Not sure this is true but they can;t break more often than those beehive things, right? Oh, well you "pays your money and you takes your chances"

get the cranes or the patriots. the revs have a bad record of breaking (don't ask me how i know 
). personally i like the patriots more than the cranes. they have a little more seat presure than the cranes and are made of the best spring material. it dosn't hurt that they only cost $300 for everything as well.

I had a mild cam put in two weeks ago. 224/228/114 0.578 lift. New hardened push rods,seals,spring seats, and Crane double valve springs.
Rapid Motorsports(MIkey) did the work. 375 rwhp and 368 rwtq
