4L60e valve body paper gasket blowout failure
I have been in my valvebody a few times with adjustments and new valves.
Twice I have noticed a gasket failure near the manual valve area.
I have used two types of paper gasket. The first is a common type, the 2nd has the paper cut out of the passageway so only the walls of the vb seal.
I have used the torque sequence in atsg manual. Would like to prevent this.
Anyone know of any tricks?
I am using a transgo separator plate, it is flat. I do not think I had a gasket failure with the GM plate. Not sure if its related.

Check the flatness of both the case and VB in that area. I suspect you will find that the VB got warped; use a quality straight edge and feeler blades where the gasket blew out.
