Default Chrome Yellow '95 5.3 mustang convertable

Its time to start the build thread on this sn95 project. We got the first round of new parts yesterday so I will go over that in few. I got this car on a deal from a buddy and saved it from the scrap yard. What I got was super clean 1995 mustang gt convertible with a 6 point swing out bar role bar and a paint matched cobra r hood. Most of the interior was there and the front seats and dash are in my sons 85 6.0 lsx coupe. I guess I could have put this thread in conversions and Hybrids or even Nitrous but I thought the carb thread will get me the most coverage.

The plan is a current "pro street" mustang with great stance and all the right parts the first time. The car will NOT be back halved or mini tubed. Its getting a aluminum 5.3, ls6 heads, Super victor intake, holley hp carb, big hyd. cam 10.5 to one compression. The trans will be either a 350 or 4l80e with a transbrake and stock replacement type suspension. The goal is bottom 9's. The car will weight in at 2800 to 3000 Without driver.

Here is the car as I got it with 1979 front kmember and spindles.

edited to add more info on design:

Stick with a yellow/gold and black theme. So a cast aluminum block, pan and valve covers and intake. Black holley HP 850. Black nylon fuel hose, black and gold jegs an fittings.

Black and yellow pro car racing seats. silver racing harness.

15X12 billit specialties 5 star wheels in back with hoosier 28x13.5x15 street slicks with 15x4 up front

Afco blue shocks with yellow coil overs and silver upper and lower controll arms

UPS got our Afco front end parts today. I have been building mustangs since the 80's and this is the nicest k-member I have ever seen.

Very very nice: how will you fit. 15x12 without a mini tub or more? Or did I misread? Unless they fit. I am not sn95 expert.

You didn't miss anything. These sn95 cars have very large wheel tubes from the factory compared to a fox body. If anything I may have to clearance where the stock spring was. We are using Afco coilovers and moving the coilovers inboard from the stock location. I had a 2000 gt with a 10" wheel and 28x12.50 et streets and the wheel had 6.5 back spacing and I didnt even have to remove the quadshocks. There was about 2.5 to 3 inches of gap between the bulge of the tire and the inner fender well.

In this car we are using a fox 8.8 that is about 1.5" a side narrower than the 99 up rear end. I am also cutting off the end of the axle tubes and replacing with 9" big tube ends. I will document the rear end mods and the inner fender work needed as that is what we are doing after the front end is built.

That is sick. There may be a sn95 in my future one day I'm sure.
