Default TCS question

What's up all!? I'm looking to become the newest member of the CTS-V community. The car I'm currently looking at has the TCS light on. According to the owner his mechanic pulled a "sc0136" code and he thinks it is a steering sensor and has something to do with the stability control. What is the best/worst case scenario that I'd be facing here?

P.S the car is an 04!

Not sure if that's the code for it, but steering wheel position sensor is a common failure.

Gotcha. Would that cause the TCS light to come on? I'm trying to figure out how much money I'd be dumping into the car with the most catastrophic situation.

There are a few things that can set off the tcs. 1 steering wheel sensor. 2. Any of the 4 wheel hub sensors going bad. 3. Any of the tire sensors going bad.

I had a TC light on when I bought my V. The CEL represented that it was the driver rear hub sensor. Come to find out, it was a split wire that had been rubbed in two up near the radiator in the harness.
