Default Replaced fuel pump, now bad again after just a week?

Car is a 98 SS. One day I went out to start it and it wouldn't start, just kept turning over. Left it for a minute and tried again, started right up. Didn't think anything of it. Next day, won't start again...this time for anything. Tried multiple times. Fuel pump not turning on, 0psi at the fuel rails. Checked the fuel pump fuse and relay.

So I figure the fuel pump must be bad. I buy a new one. I plugged it in to test it, and it worked great. Remove old fuel pump, install new. It turns on fine, car starts right up. I tried re-starting the car numerous times. No problem.

Come this weekend, car won't start again. No fuel pump turning on again. I literally haven't even driven the thing 10 miles. Checked fuel pump relay and fuse again, they're both fine. Using a DMM I get 12v at the fuel pump relay continuously. I get 12v at the fuel pump fuse for just a second when ignition is turned on and then it goes back down to 0. Is this normal?

Is there anything else left to check? What are the chances my new fuel pump already died? It's just a delphi replacement from amazon (car is stock).
