Anyone ever check lifter plunger travel?
I have a bunch of stock lifters sitting around, and most of them have a good .100" plunger travel -- but some have less than .010" .. Anyone ever check theirs? They seemed fine when pulled out of the motors they were in, just seemed odd they wouldn't all feel the same.
FWIW they've been sitting in a sealed bottle of oil since removed (didn't want to worry about rust) and put straight into the motor. My simple plunger test was done by pushing down by hand with a pushrod -- no major force on them (ie. from the valvespring).
