is it possible to fit a 275/35/18 on a 18X8.5???

Minimum wheel width is 9" for a 275/35/18, and a 265/40/18.
Go with a 255/40/18, it's minimum recommended wheel width is 8.5".

+1 the tire manufacturer recommends at least a 9 inch.
