Default Ls6 starter in Houston

Does anyone know of a place that stocks a starter for an LS6 in the Houston area? I've tried a few parts stores but they all say that they have to order it. Maybe a dealer that would have one? I really need to try and get one today. Thanks.

Any difference from the other cars or truck starters? I know they will all bolt up but are the ls6 dimensionally different?

I guess I'm wondering the same thing. It's for an 04 CTS-V but I would think any LS starter would work but then again it would look like parts stores would carry just An LS starter all day every day. I don't know what would be different in the two.

I have a brand new LS1 starter here. You might remove your current one and snap some photos, see how it compares with a normal LS starter. They should all be the same, but I hear that GTO's use a different looking one.

I got it off so I'm going to go compare it to an LS one at the parts store. The same engine in a 2004 Z06 has a different part number for the starter so my guess is the plug is different.

I ended up buying a Z06 starter and you're right it didn't have any plugs it has rings held on by nuts. The one off my CTS had a plug and a ring held by a nut. I ended up buying a piggy back and cutting the plug off and connecting it with a ring. The other difference was the Z06 had one long bolt and one short bolt, while the CTS had two long bolts so I had to buy a shorter bolt. The one good thing is that the Z06 starter was $100 cheaper! Thanks guys for the help.
