Default Help please with scat crank rod combo.

Hi I have a LSx 454 block, 9.240" deck height. it's been bored to 4.195", and I already have new forged JE 4.195" pistons, 1.178" pin height, I was looking at using 6" SCB rods and a Scat 4.125" crank, part number 4-LS1-1-4125-6125-58 but the seller here in Australia was unsure about selling me the crank because of the 6.125 in part number and said he thought it had to be used with a 6.125" rod. I was thinking I can still use SBC large Journal 6" rods with this crank and combo? Any Help and thoughts on this would be helpful.
Cheers,
Wes.

While your math is right as far as the "stack height" goes, there could be piston vs. crank cheek interference at BDC with a rod shorter than 6.125". You might ask a pro builder like Kurt, KCS, etc...

yer thanks for that, apparently Scat has 6.125" in part number and state 6.125" rod is needed for piston to counterwait clearance.
Might have to look at some new Custom pistons, and go a 4" crank and 6.125" rod.
