Default Chrome Door Emblem

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the peeling chrome letters on my door emblems are not factory. They are probably some overlay, correct? They actually look nice, but up close you can see that the corners and edges are starting to pull up and get jagged. There is always a white strand or two left hanging from my wash mitt after washing. I guess I can just peel these things off of the emblems.... So what is supposed to be under them? Just sort of flat black right?

The "Trans am" letters are just body colored from the factory.

Cool, so gloss black. I guess its time to peel those bastards off of there. Should be fun.

Just soak a rag in rubbing alcohol and get them wet with it and take them off with a finger nail

If you decide to ditch the emblems altogether, use dental floss or fishing line to remove them. Then, use the rubbing alcohol approach on the leftover glue and then finish up with some clay barring.
