Default Video - Fire Truck Fords Raging CO Floodwaters Responding to a Call

I had no idea a standard American fire engine could do this.

Looks like it passed that test! Not sure I'd have wanted to be the one driving, let alone riding for that trip.

What kinda engines do they use? I can see those things being able to resist being swept away considering how heavy those things are.

That truck would have to have a snorkel on it.

Oh and BTW, riding shotgun in a fire truck is almost as fun as driving. You get full control of the lights, siren, and horn. Horn is a foot button lol.

Wouldn't most? I used to deal a bit with E-one(Ocala, FL) and have seen some trucks, but one design stood out. The engine was in the rear of the chassis(just at the rear of the cab) and had an intake system which seemed to be about eye level of riders. Maybe it was a bit shorter, but being so far back, that probably works well.

The only engine that instantly comes to mind with me is Oshkosh, though Cummins and so forth surely offer many other really heavy options.
