Default What would you do ?

http://www.jaguarspecialties.com/XK8-LSx.asp

I had a severe stroke a few years back and havent driven since. I'll be getting my licence back soon and want to put an LS motor/driveline in the Jag XK8. Ive always been a mustang guy, my old foxbody went 9.40s with a turbo.

This time around I want a daily driver, was thinking about the 6.2 from a denali ? would like 450ish hp n/a with an auto in that sexy car

what do you guys think ? tranny ? 4l60 or 4l80 ? help out this ex-ford guy before I just break down and buy a new 5.0 ! (ps im 36yrs old)

any help/info/experience/advice whatever would be greatly appreciated !

can the 4L65e work with the 2009-newer 6.2 ?
I think the 6.2 came with the 4L85e
is there any benefit to using the 65 over the 85?
are they much bigger (dont care about the extra weight, just not sure if it'll fit !)

thats awesome that youve recovered to this point. my wifes grandfather suffered a stroke a couple years ago and hes still having a rough time. i cant even imagine what its like, especially being paralyzed.

i hope you get the info you need about your project (im sure youll get it soon enough)

I emailed Andrew at Jaguar Specialties (seems like a gr8 guy)
"
Andrew, is there room for a 4l80 or 4l85 and can it be made to work ?
his reply was :
Yes, there probably is, but you would be on your own for that one.....

If it's going to be a questionable fit you may just want to get a built 4l60e to keep it simpler.

They make trans controllers for those transmissons (tci has one, and there are others as well.) Then you either need a pcm for the engine that is made for a vehicle with a manual trans, or I believe there is an aftermarket comp for lsx motors, although I could be wrong as most of my research has been geared towards a carb build.

The other way I'd wanna go would be a 5.3/4L60/turbo seup, but room looks tight..

thanx for the input !
