Possible PCM shorting problem
Background: 2002 z28 swapped into a 98 240sx with t56.
Driving the car one day and it shuts off. Culprit turned out to be a 30 amp fuse blown that is between battery and ignition switch. Later investigation shows that the fuse was blowing in the "on" position on the ignition. More investigation shows that the when the pcm is disconnected from its ignition wire, the fuel pump and everything else works in the on position and the fuse doesn't blow.
Barring any major shorts that I have yet to find, is this at all normal behavior for a malfunctioning pcm? I'm hard pressed to think that the pcm would completely ground out like that such that a 30 amp fuse would now as a result.
Any thoughts?
