Question Dazed n Confused

Hey Guys, Im Old Guy 7 because I am Old and owned 7 different Corvettes in the last 40 years. This is the first time I have joined a forum, usually just ask around until I figure something out or take it to the dealer. Anyway
I have a 97 Vette that has gone into speed limit mode, 55 mph tops. The codes are P1515, P 1221, C 1278. I am reading about this and seems like it could be anything from a tire sensor, spark plug wire or PCM, TCS ? I don't know if they are different, related or all part of the ECM? Just doesnt seem like anything I can do with a wrench or screwdriver. I tried the battery disconnect and the dash warnings went off for about 5 miles and kicked back in. Anything I can do, or give me some insight so I don't get gouged at the dealer. I do have a KnN intake unit and Borla exhaust but mostly stock with 120K miles.Give me some of that Shade Tree experience.

Our c5's are getting up there in age and developing electrical problems. I recent fixed my abs/traction control system after finding a wire that was damaged. Good thing is most likely you and me are the not the first person to have these problems. This site is great for engine, performance and fbodies but for corvette specific information like you are looking for you are better off on corvetteforums. Put your codes in the search function over there and see what comes up. A lot of problems are from ground wires going bad.

Quick searches for your codes over on CF. Looks like your codes are related to your throttle body and the throttle body positioning sensor.

Here is a great thread on common electrical problems for the c5
