car only runs right with scanner plugged in...why?

Default car only runs right with scanner plugged in...why?

Rebuilt shortblock and now car stalls out, spits and sputters unless bluepoint scan tool is plugged in... then car runs like a striped *** ape! Whats goin on

thanks for the post morgan. this is for my car. and I have actually found its any scan tool even a cheap hand held. The car essentially shuts off momentarily. gauges flicker, car loses all power then comes right back on.

figured it out! had 18M ohms of resistance between pcm ground wire at PCM and where it bolts to back of head. assume broke wire, cut and splice it at pcm made new ground and she is good to go.
