16 year old Z owner
Hello to everyone, I got my son a used 1999 Z28 LS1 this weekend and knew about this site from Yellowbullet. I have a 1979 Z28 with a 502 big block in it that I used to drag race. We look forward to up grading the car with the help of the LS1 tech family. Greeting from Memphis TN.

im new to this site too. well being a member anyway. the main ls1 tech guys on here rilly know there stuff and give great advice. im 22 and over the past 6 years iv been trying to get my project off the ground. (96 s10 ext cab 4.3 5speed. to a lsx t56 dd) anyways back on track the plan whent from 355sb to an ls motor in the past 2years and i went from old school to knowing almost everything lsx. thanks to this site and othere reserch.
ps im a big camaro fan and just a heads up for your ls1 build. hears some good tips.
1.5.3 heads will bump compresion
2.swap that ls1 intake for a FAST, if you dont have the $$$ ls6 intake is 2end best.
3.get some ls6 heads, ls1 heads are ok just a sep down. if you use 5.3 heads get thim pp to keep the flow up at higher rpm.
4.get a new cam. its like the best upgrade you can do to lsx motors. just if you go big you will need better heads,intake,and exh (LT)headers just to keep up. yes they respond that well.
5. yes get a bigger rear end.
