Default 1995 4l60e interchange years

Hello, I have a 1995 4l60e auto transmission fresh rebuild beefed up and a 2000 stall. Question is can this trans work in a ls1 swap ? will the pcm be able to run it properly and I believe there mite need to be a adapter but not sure. So Im looking for someone that can answer this or that has used a lt1 95 auto trans with a ls1 Thanks

No. the ls1 style 4l60es are different than the lt1 4l60es.

The difference can be easily spotted in the cases. If there's a two part case, it's the later 4L60E. If its a single case, and all smooth like an old TH350, etc, it's the older one.

Both transmissions will bolt to the LS1, or any GM motor for that matter. The electronics, however, will not work. I am no expert but I THINK you can use the older model, but it will not shift properly, and may not shift at all. I think you could shift it manually but that would get very old very quick.

I would just sell the trans you have now and get the one that works right with the setup.
