I have a leaky fuel line connection on my 5.3. I just put this engine in my 86 K5, and it has not leaked until yesterday. I used an anodized connector from Summit Racing to attach to my factory fuel line (pictured). What do you guys recommend to fix this? Should I replace the factory metal fuel line that's mounted to the intake manifold? Is the blue connector (pictured) reuseable, or will I need to get a new one of those too?

From looking at the picture.. I would check to make sure the metal line going into the connector is clean and not damaged. Also make sure it is seated and going straight into the connector.. as it seem to be going in at an angle.

I would replace the metal line going to the connector. .it looks in pretty bad shape.

Just looks like surface rust to me, BC.

But, yeah, you should take another look at that hard line there. Rust maybe keeping it from sealing properly.

Knock off the surface rust around the end with 120 or higher grit sandpaper then clean it up and try again.

Your fuel line does look a bit rusty but that fitting is also the push lock style. That many (myself in included) had issues with the Russel brand of that style. Check to see if it is fully pushed on as it does look to be crooked. A little oil on the pipe makes the O-rings slide on MUCH easier.

If it is your fitting, Russel now makes one that clamps onto the nipple instead of relying on some plastic to keep it from moving.

Clean/sand the line completely then use the swedgelock fittings. It will never leak again.

Swedgelock SS-600-6-6N is the part number for 3/8" tube to -6N style line.
Swedgelock SS-500-6-6N is the part number for 5/16" tube to -6N style line.
