Default New here, old everywhere else...

I've been around on the 4x4 boards for about 10 years now, getting past the rock crawling bug, since they keep shutting our trails down... Now I'm back on to my original project, a 1963 mercury meteor. I have owned this car since I was 15 (13 years now), and have been through 3 ford motors and 5 transmissions. I just sold the 5.0 I had been collecting parts for in order to swap in a 6.0 and t56. Seeing as I had $3000 into a motor that would struggle to make 350hp, I bought an lq4 complete for $400 from a buddy.

The plan so far is to carb it, cam it, and run it. After reading many hate threads on the the ford boards, I ended up here- hopefully with some logical folks who don't want 1950's technology in their ride.
