Default Help with tach signal

This is the last thing left on my swap.

2005 5.3 into 1990 240sx. Apparently you can connect C2 #10 engine speed (tach) wire directly to my twin cam tachometer & it will work correctly. As per every other LS 240 owner on the internet.

This does not work for me. With a voltmeter on the #10 wire, it is only showing around 1/20th of a volt (.05 -.07) & the tach needle doesn't move. My harbor freight obd2 scanner shows the RPMs correctly though.

Any advice? The engine & computer came out of the same truck. Tach was working when pulled.

Look up "pull up circuit" basically another 12v source w/ some resistors inline to give you a good signal to your tach.

I read on somewhere (mabeylt1swap.com) that you need a 12v keyed source and a resistor for it to work with the newer harnesses. My guess.

Found it. I need a 680ohm resistor. I'll get one in the morning & report back.

Don't know how it didn't come up in my searches.
Thanks guys!
