Turbo Exhaust Flange Orientation Question
So I have decided to add a turbo to my LS1 setup in my E30 M3 chassis. As you can imagine the engine bay is very tight. Although it is tight I have decided that I can squeeze a Turbonetics 7868(78 wheel in a 68 compressor housing) in the front passenger side of the engine compartment. After taking some measurements it looks like the setup can only work if the turbo exhaust flange from the passenger side header/crossover is oriented either vertically or at 45* as opposed to flat with the turbo exhaust housing laying on it like I see in 99% of the threads. Is this OK? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
Here is a old engine bay photo...

Really dont get what you're asking.
Oil goes into the top of the turbo, and it drains out the bottom, with the core sitting level.
Nothing else really matters.

Confusing question to me but hopefully this answers it.... The turbine and compressor side can be clocked, just ensure that your turbo oil feed and drain are vertical-ish, give or take a couple degrees.

Yup exactly, exh housing and compressor housing can be oriented however you want. You can even mount them upside down, just gotta make sure the center section stays vertical, when clocking the exh and comp housings.
