Controlling optispark with Ignition box
Asking for a buddy.
Is there anyway to control the optispark with an ignition box without the ecm? Going carb and already has msd opti spark coil and wires. Trying to keep it simple.

I worded that incorrectly. My apologizes. I was trying to ask if you could essentially replace the pcm with an ignition box per say. At least as far as timing is concerned.
Has anyone used the PCM to only control timing by chance and left the fuel up the carb?
The goal was to use the parts he has in a relatively simple manner along with the carb setup.

An ignition box does not have the necessary components. It would have to be another engine management computer. I don't think you can mix that with a regular carb.
