First turbo build Pt88/4l80e/s60/ac. Update: car won't idle. Ideas?
After picking up my latest fbody and ditching my 95 ls1 swap project I picked up a n2o kit for some quick and easy hp. Well after starting to buy everything to spray safe and reliable I decided to ditch that and put my money where I wanted....a boosted set up.
Bone stock 2000 camaro (ok it has an slp lid)
Build plans:
C6/truck manifold set keeping ac
2.25" cross over
Pt88 turbo
60mm waste gate
Undecided on blow off valve (bought tial knock off)
eBay intercooler
Griffin radiator
Undecided on fans (v6 contour fans)
Maybe a shorter ac condenser (I will no more when I start cutting the core support.)
Dkt k member for the most clearance
4" down pipe front bumper exit on a cut out with full exhausts ran all the way back
Relocate battery to spare tire well
80lb injectors (ended up with id1000!)
Goal for the car is make it 100% street car with ac, everything works and make a low 10second car. I'm thinking 7xxhp should do it.
Stage of the build will include a iron lq4 that I already have and a 4l80e!
Will update with pics as soon as work slows down so I can get started! I've got a lot of parts already on the way!

Should be very nice, I'm in the process of a similar build myself. I'm using the Huron speed A/C hotside, but I'm not 100% on the turbo yet. I have a PT7475 but I'm considering switching to a CEA7675 or PT88. Might see what the little 7475 will do first before I make the change.

Ya it is a good deal for sure. I looked into it and talked to Jon about a turbo also. I'd just rather build it 100% the way I want and get the fit I want. Nothing but time I guess lol. I've always settled for something that wasn't exactly what I wanted and I'm changing that with this build (at least that's the idea). Do it once and when it goes boom put my lq4 in it and turn it up!
I'm sure the Huron kit will do you great though Brendon.

Ya stock engine this go around. I've got a low mileage lq4 sitting here but I'm waiting to atlesst build the turbo kit first then next year (if the stock motor makes it that long) I'll swap in the lq4 with a 4l80 and turn it up!

I'm not doing anything. I'm not opening up this motor at all. When it goes it's gone and I'll put my 6.0 in its place and never look back.
I'm only planning on running 5ish pounds while on the stock motor tho.

Cool story...I also stated I'll be keeping the stock motor for now and not trying to push it. But I only plan on buying one turbo and building the kit one time. Full weight car not a gutted race car.
This pt88 will fit my future motor much better. (Along with a better fuel system).
Goal is to buy the parts one time and when I find the weakest link replace/repair with the best I can afford.

im also pretty sure a 4 banger will do it with a 76 because it dosent have to move the volume of air that you would have to with a v8
