Reuse self adjusting Pressure plate w/new disc? I would like to re use my LS6/LS1 pressure plate with a new disc.
From reading some of the threads here, it sounds like these OE type pressure plates are self adjusting.
I assume they adjust to compensate for the disc getting thinner.
So, if I install the fresh disc and the pressure plate is already adjusted itself for a thinner disc, I am assuming I will end up with a clutch that does not disengage.
Will the pressure plate adjust backwards on its own, or is it a one way only?
If they are one way only, is there a procedure to back it off to the original setting while it is out of the car?
I would love to hear from anyone that has figured this out already.

Not sure what disc you plan on running, but be careful of running an aggressive friction material with cast iron as enough heat can cause it to explode...literally, do a search on youtube for videos if you want to see clutches lodged in dashes. It isn't worth loosing a foot over to save some dough, as an upgraded bell housing will cost as much as one of our clutches that are currently on sale with free shipping.
