Is there a real difference in corvette and F body shifters?

Is there a real difference in corvette and F body shifters? Im looking to buy a new shifter and I have found a couple deals on vette shifters. I know there are separate T56 shifter part numbers between vette and camaro. I'm wondering if it will mount up the same and work the same. I think the stick is a little different and so are the **** threads.

No it is COMPLETELY different. The Fbody shifter bolts ONTO the actual transmission. The Vette shifter bolts onto the torque tube with a linkage that goes back to the transmission. Will not work at all.
