Default Is there a real difference in corvette and F body shifters?

Im looking to buy a new shifter and I have found a couple deals on vette shifters. I know there are separate T56 shifter part numbers between vette and camaro. I'm wondering if it will mount up the same and work the same. I think the stick is a little different and so are the **** threads.

Interesting question for sure, I'm guessing because the Vetts transmission is rear mounted, the shifter attaches to the linkage differently (?)

No it is COMPLETELY different. The Fbody shifter bolts ONTO the actual transmission. The Vette shifter bolts onto the torque tube with a linkage that goes back to the transmission. Will not work at all.
