Should work as the 4.3 had the same bellhousing pattern as the small block.

I'm doing basically the same swap into a '02 blazer, transmission guy tells me that because I'm using an '02 4l60e, that it will work perfectly. Also, using the 4.3 stock converter is a slightly higher stall, so it should work well with the drop in came with the little head work I'm getting done...

Older versions of the Trans, say...your '93, will need the spacer from what I've been told...

Good luck, I'd like to see how that build goes for you...mine is, well, becoming very expensive...very fast, lol!

The other thing you will have to do with the trans is have the tune changed to command 100% lockup, or you will burn out the lockup clutch. The 93 transmission was either locked or unlocked, and the 4.8 would use the PWM lockup converter which allows them to slip.

I have a '97 305's 4L60E behind my '01 4.8L LSx, using the 6.0L flexplate that came with the spacer and longer bolts in the box. My tuning guy had no problem with making the older trans work, though I've yet to drive it. I used the torque converter from a '99 S-10 Blazer 4x4, and the sticker on the converter confirmed the desirable 2075-RPM stall. Should give 1900-2200 for what I'm trying.
Everything bolted together fine, the starter and the flexplate match up well even with the spacer.
My S-10 is an '87 2WD that had the 2.5L, looks like I'll need to change the steering shaft to get any exhaust manifold to clear.
