Why, the are a valvetrain hassle and ported stock GM heads can make more power. There was a guy around here years ago that swapped to ported stockers to get away from the valvetrain and wear issues of those heads and was pleasantly surprised to go faster.

doing some testing on a turbo car, want to try a few things out and need one more set. they dont have valvetrain geometry issues if properly set up, longer P rods and proper rockers i have ran a set for 3 years on a car with the out of box iron guides....

need another set and at this point they can be gen 1 style heads, ill just convert them to reverse cooling when im done.
