Greetings LS Fans
Hey everyone,
Just a brief introduction, up in the great white North, Canada.
Last year my son and I built him a 2001 GMC Reg short 2 wheel drive by dropping in a LQ9 and a Nelson tune, K&N cold air intake, off-road catless Y pipe and cherry bomb exhaust.
Backing up the power we dumped the 3 spd auto for a manual 5spd, tranny was a project but all parts found on E bay and bolt together!
Lowered and new poly bushings throughout plus a nice set of black power coated factory aluminium wheels.
Truck is getting new 13 inch rotors and calipers to improve the Whoa over the Winter as well as new posi rear end and leaf pack. (Junior had a wheel hop issue that buggered the spring pack!)
I drive a 2010 GMC Sierra WT reg short 2 wheel drive with the 5.3 LMG and a 6 auto. Its stock but rocks as a nice sleeper as most figure a V6. Just weighing the pros and cons of Edelbrock or Whipple SC. I have not seen too many projects with reg shortbox 2x4, are they too squirrelly with the short wheel base?
Looking for some input.
Thanks,
