Hey everyone! I'm in the works of getting my plans together to build myself a turbo ls powered s10 and I've got some questions I'd like opinions on. First off which do y'all think would be the best motor to put in it? I wanna go with an ls1 or a '03 5.3 iron block

id stick with the iron block if your wanting much boost

I was also looking into doing an ls9 into it because stock they are tough as hell and can handle the turbo with only an injector change and fuel pump change and even those aren't really needed. The stock internals will hold 800+hp. Would the ls9 fit and be a reasonable swap. The only thing holding me back from that is the money.

A ls9 will fit, but why spend that much? You can get a 4.8L or 5.3L and boost it for probably the same amount. These motors have been pushed past 800hp guite a few times, on stock internals. Google "1200hp ls motor", Super Chevy did an article on it.

I'm new to this so I'm open to anything anybody says. What psi can I run a 5.3 on with stock internals? Like 8-10 and have it be reliable to drive everyday?
