help, Window switch problem (misreading rpm)
I purchased a summit racing window switch for my 07 Trailblazer SS,
a friend of mine has used this switch with success on a different vehicle and it was cheap.
My problem is that the switch is reading the rpm wrong. so if the cluster says 600 at idle, it will read 300, and at 3200 it will read 1700. i attached a scanner and double check that the scanner read exactly what the cluster did, that was fine so i moved on to a faulty switch.. I contacted summit and had them send a replacement. plugged it in and same outcome. exactly the same,
although it does not read properly it is very consistant reading the same rpm at the same location the gauge does. (ex gauge 3200 rpm switch 1700)
i chose the white wire coming from cluster for an 07 trailblazer ss from this link this is the only place i could get any kind of read. i also tried the wire from the ecu in the same link with no luck. that pin did no give me any kind of readings.

anybody have any insight on what my problem might be?
instructions from summit:
"grey wire is input for the tach signal. this wire will hook up to the negative side of your ignition coil, or if you are using a high energy cd ignition, connect to the tach output of your ignition system to the grey wire of the rpm switch and NOT the coil"

All RPM window switches must be hooked up like it is a four cylinder on LS vehicles due to the RPM signal. This is normal and there is absolutely nothing wrong with your window switch.
