Keeping Cool
Right now Im getting the last of my parts for my upcoming turbo build, and Im just checking to see if my cooling system will be enough. Im using an on3 turbo kit and a t7875 and currently have the stock radiator, and was planning on getting some derale 16925 fans in place of the stock ones. Will that be enough for street cruising or should I look into wrapping the hotside and getting a turbo blanket to keep everything happy? Im gonna run enough boost to make mid 600whp right off the bat and turn it up to 750-800 later on down the line. Would it be a good idea to upgrade to a better radiator?

I would definitely wrap the hotside and get a turbo blanket. The local shop here was telling me a story about dynoing a turbo car and they had made a few runs and he leaned over to look at something and placed his hand on the turbo blanket before he realized it. Said he jumped back but it wasn't hot to touch.

I would wrap your whole hot side and buy a turbo blanket. Its tight under the hood and by wrapping everything up and a turbo blanket you will keep that much more heat out from under the hood. This will also keep stuff from around the hot side getting to hot or melting anything. A lot of guys have been fine with the stock radiator and fans as long as they fit you will be just fine. Wrapping everything up will be key to that though.
