Default 2002 GM rear pinion seal part #

I'm one of those lucky ones with the 2002 rear pinion seal. Yeah Autozone only had 1 seal in their system. I bought the only one they had and it was wrong.

So now that my car is down and before I go to the dealer, anyone have a part # for that seal?

I did a search and found a pic of the seal in another thread but no part #

The auto parts stores I've been to have always asked if it was a 2 piece or 3 piece seal (3 piece being the later). Funny they didn't have that designation in their system. Contrary to what those part numbers suggest, 01 was the transitional year and from my experience build date makes the difference. Early 01s got the old/first style, late 01 cars got the second style.

I read that long thread about it. I did smile when I found out my vert is towards the end of the 01 run.

Also note, I did remove the vent tube and found it BLOCKED may have lead to seal failure.
