Default Ready to install PA4 intank pump

Ready to install the Tanks,Inc PA4 in tank pump in a new 1969 Mustang tank. When I trim the mount that holds the sump tray to the bottom of the tank should I leave the mount a little long so the sump tray has some pressure holding in on the bottom of the tank? The pump will be mounted on the outside edge on the passenger side.

ALSO, the pump kit came with a 6 inch rubber F. I. hose to connect the pump to the output elbow. Would it be worth the effort to use the flexible plastic OEM hose like Racetronix sells.

I would not have the down brace causing pressure. It could cause wear and if for some readon, you hit something or bottom out there would be no give.. not that the tray would be just about resting on the tanks floor anyway.

I did mine with just a very small clearence.
