Procharger build help
So I'm in process of gather all the parts for a P1 build in my mostly stock 99 trans am.
I have gotten a lot of the parts so far but have questions about what I have or what I need to get.
First off, my inlet hat. The barbed fitting is not there, what size or type of fitting to I get for that? Also seems that the threads are halfway broke of it, does the hat seem much vaccum pressure? Like can I just get the barbed fitting and epoxy it in there for extra stability?
Aside from fuel system and small items such as bolts and washers I only need the radiator hold down, the fan and fan shroud. I plan on getting either a Spal or Spirgo fan but I don't see myself buying the ati shroud for $130!
Has anyone ever made their own shroud out of aluminum? Or is the shroud even that necessary? I feel like it probably is needed so thinking about trying the homemade version. Does any one know of a template or dimensions of the ATI shroud that I could copy?
I know Bob at brutespeed has everything I need but I'm a cheap as and rather buy majority of items used or make my own. No worries though Bob. I WILL be ordering all my final components from you. .
Thanks in advance
Dan

Thats what I did. I just got my build put all together and I did what you are doing. Piecing it all together. I just went with the known good parts from Bob. Cant go wrong with parts you know are going to work the first time.

Send me an e-mail with what you're looking for, and I can also e-mail you a copy of the installation instructions. I wouldn't hook up the breather line to the air inlet. I would install a breather/catch can instead. Thanks. Bob

What are the downfalls to running it through the inlet? Ive been looking at mighty mouse catch cans a lot lately so I know thats the one I would probably get.
If i use a catch can, then what do I use to block off the hole in the inlet hat?
So Im looking around at catch can routing for boosted ls1s, and i nust not be getting something here.
From what I have gotten from reading:
-a catch can will have a connection to an vacuum source
-then it will have a to connect to one of the pvc fittings on the engine
- the remaining pvc fittings are all ran back up to the inlet hat
I'm not disagreeing, but I guess I just dont really understand the way the catch cans are working... because it seems that a hose runs to the inlet hat no matter what(from the write ups and diagrams I found about this)

Do something like what is in the diagram and also add a breather to the passenger side valve cover. This keeps oil from getting into your inlet system and coating the maf. You can epoxy the hole shut on the air inlet. Bob

You're welcome. I'd still go that way if you go with an SD tune. Bob
