Default Possible wheel hop cure?

So I was changing my front diff bushing the other day and got to looking around back there. It's no secret the bushings are complete ****, I didn't even have a front diff bushing left as a matter of fact. I've read up on all the wheel hop solutions I could find and most still don't completely fix the problem...I'm considering a solid mount sub frame. I know it's not the most comfortable ride in the world but wouldn't the overall performance aspect be better? Will it improve handling, body roll, and stop the wheel hop? I'm going to start fabbing something up this weekend any input would be appreciated.

I read that too, it was the only thing I found so far that worked. I'm going to try a "semi-solid" mount in place of the cradle bushings. Basically a solid mount with some form of cushion to keep the noise and some of the ride there.

If you can fab, why not make the bars? They seem to keep the comfort level while keeping the subframe from torquing under load and snapping back (similar to axle wrap on a leaf spring setup). If I had the equipment I would do so.

I just figured if I could figure out something simple to replace the bushings then the guys without the equipment could do it as well. Or I could make more

I'm lost. You're machining what? A steel bushing of sorts to solidly mount the cradle? Why not just weld them shut. Should be much easier. Not to mention it is not like the cradle is a machined surface, so to install a machined bushing would raise problems in my head. Like having to have them over sized and press them in(warranting the entire cradle to be removed from the car). Otherwise if there is any slack, that location takes a lot of abuse, and I fear would eventually wear. To where the cradle would move causing yet another rear end clunk.

Haven't people already tried replacing the cradle bushings with solid mounts?

I'm not replacing the bushing, I'm filling the gap with inserts that are slightly shorter than the bushing. By doing that it will still have somewhat of a bushing like effect. Just not enough lateral or horizontal movement to wheel hop. I'm running 3" tubing spacers on the bottom right now and I can do a standing burnout without any clunking or hopping. It's almost like on a sheet of glass honestly.

I'm having a hard time imagining what you're describing. In for pictures!

Nope. There was a guy that welded plates to the subframe and it worked.

I am getting some super hard bushings made as we speak.

I had thought about Solid Al bushings, but have been talked out of it......

Again, with all the stuff I do for MY car; more to come.....

So kind of like the old Specter Werkes bushing inserts, but in metal instead of Delrin?
