ls3(2010) water pump work on a 2001 LQ 6.0
Hi guys, im just starting on a lq4 s480 turbo install in my 66 nova.
Im trying to keep all the pulleys as tight to the engine as i dont have a lot of room forward of the engine.
My question is does the later model 2010 ls3 water pumps fit on the 2001 6.0 engine? I like that pump because the outlet is on the drivers side.
thanks guys.

Yes the later model waterpumps will fit your LQ4/LQ9, however there are different waterpump offets to consider. The Corvette LS3 water pump is a "block hugging" type which has the least offset and will need to be combined with a matching Corvette-spacing crank pulley and accessories. The 2010+ Camaro LS3 water pump sticks out approximately 1.5" more than the Corvette LS3 waterpump and will match the spacing of the truck crank pulley you already have. It can be combined with 2010+ Camaro accessories or truck accessories.

I have what I *think* is a new LS3 pump (see pic) I got in a box of parts. I've measured it against the C5 pump on my Maverick swap and the belt rides correctly, it's just that the pulley is shorter and the outlet is wrong for me (I need PASS side). It'll be on E-Bay starting at $75 tonight if you're interested...

Few other ways to do it. I just installed one with an fbody balancer and fbody alt mount. I used a 3 jaw puller and pulled it out a 1/4" or so. Everything lined up great. I then saw ebay sells 1/4" waterpump spacers. That would have been much easier! Ah well...
Here is a random comparison pic next to an fbody pump.
My puller... It was a bastard get it to move. Had to use map gas and all. Didn't want to budge. Thought I'd deform the pulley but didn't.
